Corrado Orlando is First Clarinet at the Orchestra of "Carlo Felice" Theatre of Genoa.
After the studies at the Academy of Music "A.Steffani" of Castelfranco Veneto, he attended the Academy "Lorenzo Perosi" of Biella, studying with Antony Pay and he obtained the High Specialization at the Superior Academy of Music of Lugano with the clarinetist Fabio Di Cŕsola, of whom he became assistant at the specialization courses.
His solo and chamber music activity is intensive. He was engaged in duo with the piano, in recitals in Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Germany and was also guest at important festivals such as “Settembre Musica” of Turin and Florence, ”Bologna Festival”, Regensburg Musikverein, the Theatre “A:Roldan” Festival of Havana, Salzburg Festival, the 57th International Spring Festival of Prague.
Accompanied by the Italian International Orchestra, he took part to a tour in China, Malaysia and Thailand.
In 1999 he won the First Clarinet contest for the Theatre Orchestra “Carlo Felice” of Genoa and thanks to this role he had the opportunity of collaborating with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Giuseppe Sinopoli, M.W.Chung, Gary Bertini, Antonio Pappano, Sir Neville Marriner, Daniel Harding, Zubin Mehta and Fabio Luisi.
He collaborated like first clarinet with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, with the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, with Theatre Orchestra “La Fenice” of Venice, Theatre Orchestra of Cagliari, Fondazione Arena di Verona Orchestra, Orchestra da Camera of Padova, Orchester Musikkollegium Winterthur and Orchestra of Teatro Regio of Parma.
He made radio recordings for Rai 3, ORF, Radio of Monaco and he recorded the Quintet for clarinet and strings op.115 by J.Brahms for “Mondo Musica”.
He gives lessons of master classes and specialization courses.
